“So suppose a dame ain’t bright . . .”

“What, didn’t you graduate?”

“You no hear something call you?”

“Most people live on a lonely island lost in the middle of a foggy sea.”

“I have orders to speak to Captain Brackett.”

“I’ll show you a Little Rock fugitive.”

“We are not alike. Probably I bore him. He’s a cultured Frenchman; I’m a little hick.”

“Some enchanted evening, you may see a stranger, you may see a stranger across a crowded room.”

“For the last time, pick up all this - paraphenalia - and take it over there, off Navy property!”

“Bali Hai may call you, any night, any day . . .”

“Captain Brackett, sir?”

“If a man don’t understand you, if you fly on separate beams, make a change, make a switch, drop him in the nearest ditch!”

“Once you have found her, never let her go.”

“Younger than springtime, are you . . .”

“If you no have a dream, how you gonna have a dream come true?”

“Let’s give it up for Captain Brackett!”

“It’s come to my attention that some of you have been called me ‘Old Ironbelly’.”

“And I don’t like that very much. Because that’s my personal nickname for our executive officer, Commander Harbison!”

“A hundred and one pounds of fun, that’s my little honey bun . . .”

“I’m caught and I don’t want to run ’cause I’m having so much fun with honey bun.”

“Enjoy your turkey!”

“That sounds like someone trying to send a message!”

“That was the sound of the roof you heard. The metal, cooling off at night.”

“And you just happen to fall out - with the aid of a parachute!”

“We think Luther - uh, Billis, here - caused a kinda diversionary action.”

“I think, when this is over, I’m going to come back and marry Liat. All I care about is here.”

“How could I have been so foolish? . . . Please come back so I can tell you I love you.”

“Seasick remedy. I’ll let you have it for twenty bucks.”

“I’m no longer a lousy island commander. I’ve got me a ship!”

“Est-ce que parce que vous m’aimez?”
